Iridescent laborite and outdoor use.

My brother received a large (and rare) slab of laborite as a gift.  He didn't want to display it in the stand it came with so I made it into this table for him.

It now sits on a well covered patio, i.e. no direct sunlight, but it freezes a lot where he lives.  In the past couple of years the oil based sealant I used has evaporated and he has had to reseal it.

Not all of my tables can take freezing and thawing, however. For example the petrified wood on my patio table disintegrates in freeze thaw cycles, so I have to bring it in for the winter
