You can find bowls, cups, plates and other items cut from slabs of fossiliforus rocks from various parts of the world in most rock shops and gem and mineral shows.  I slected the plate featured on this table from Morocco because it did not have a deep cut....its almost flat.   Also it contains some very interesting fossile basulites .

The design was completed with Lyons sandtone chistled to fit within a rim defined by a used whiskey barrel hoop.  The table top is supported by three steel hairpin legs.
